Kissing & Bleeding (chp.2)

Chapter 2
Darkness Falls

The lights from the lamp posts were dimmed and I was accompanied by the crescent moon which appears to be white shimmering in the sky. So, I walked alone on the sidewalk, heading to the bar where I was working at, hoping it would be a spot for me to have my sleep that night. It was 2 am, every shop or bar already hung their “close” sign on the doors. No 24 hours shop or bar here in my town. That would be another weird circumstance, don’t you think so? And they say darkness has always been lurking in this small town during the night. So, that would probably be the reason why everyone closes their shops or even lock their house door, early. I tried to ignore that fact while I was wandering about all alone in this silent town, eliminating my sense of fear every chance that I could get.

Suddenly, a growling sound was being heard by my ears. I wouldn’t dare to turn my back and face whatever was following me at that moment, I just kept on walking, step by step and I was tongue-tied. The sound was getting louder and louder in my ears which tells me that the creature has already an inch away from me. “Maybe, Kristain will come and save me.” That’s what I thought. I knew that I wasn’t alone anymore at that time. Someone or something was walking close, precisely behind me. I could even feel the warmth of its presence. I got scared and this whole thing got me all shivered down my spine until it came to a point where my feet wouldn’t let me continue walking. So, I stopped and froze. I got the feeling whatever was behind me stopped too.

“Who are you?” I said with my breaking voice. There was no answer, just a growl was let out. “Is it you, Kristain?” I asked another question but nothing was heard this time except the sound of the breezy cold wind. “Kristain?” I was hoping it would be him judging by the view of a shadowy figured dressing alike like Kristain that was seen by my naked eye. I was too happy and didn’t have in mind that it could be someone else. I turned to face him and little did I know, it wasn’t Kristain that I was facing with, it was someone else, a creepy faced guy who was not exactly a human, more like he was a vampire!, flashing his fangs right on my face. My face turned paler than my pale skin and I was speechless seeing a hideous vampire for the first time in my life.

“And so, you’re back! I’ve been waiting for you for a thousand years!” he pulled me in a harsh way and began to strangle me. “And starting from tonight, you couldn’t ask for another comeback! Since I will be sweet enough to banish you to dust! “ He said while laughing evilly.

“What are you talking about?” I braved myself up and tried to free from his hands with confusion.

“Oh wait, I’m guessing you’re not fully awakened yet. Has your Kristain forgot to unleashed the true you? My my, this would make it easier for me to kill you!” His lines were confusing, I couldn’t understand a thing! What was he saying? And why was he saying all of these to me? What am I to him? To Kristain?

“Nevermind, you don’t need to know anything, my princess. Just stay calm as with what am I about to do to you.” He gently stroked the fringe of my lovely long straight hair. Claws started to grew on his other hand, he then raised it up high and shove it directly at me.

“Kristain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” I screamed my lungs out and covering up my face with both of my hands, wanting everything to stop.

“Hey Lastride, get your dirty hands off her!” Kristain finally arrived at the scene looking ever so stunning and heroic but it was too late since Lastride’s hands were already half way inside to stab my heart.

“Aren’t you a little too late?” Lastride side smirked and finally letting me go, with a hole poked through my skin and I was bleeding to hell! “Oh I can scent the pureness of her blood already! Simply irresistible!” He then swiped his foe finger on my bloody wound just to get the sweet taste of my blood which he desire to do so for a very long time. “Very delicate yet typical!” He spilled it out to the ground.

“What an idiot! She still owns a human blood, what do you expect?” Kristain said with pride as if he knows everything.

“Is that so? Well, I could turn her into my kind of vampire with just one bite then! And then, I could finish her off, sucking every blood that runs through her veins, providing me every power that she owns.” Lastride let out another evil laugh and grabbed my hair to pull my neck close to his sharp fangs.

“Over my dead body!” Without a moment to waste, Kristain flew himself towards the two of us, ready to attack his so-called enemy while my visions started to blur out as I was feeling dizzy due to the gallon amount of blood loss.

“So long and good night, dear princess Ella.” Lastride was making his way to extract his fangs on my skin and the next thing I knew everything went dark from my sight.

“Ella, Ella, Ella, Ella, Ella...” Said hauntingly by a very deep yet cunning voice of a guy and strangely enough it was Kristain. That name seemed to have been playing around in my mind. It acted as though the name was actually mine.

Apparently, I was caught up in a fantasy. A fantasy filled with beautiful yet happy scenes. The sun shines its ray ever so bright, the grass was green as it is and I was in a beautiful garden where there were blooming pink roses all around me, the smell of the roses and fresh air glided through my nostrils, in my ears I could hear the birds chirping and singing happily and my eyes were overlooking those beautiful colourful butterflies flying here and there. I enjoyed that moment while sipping a cup of hot vanilla tea in a plain white summer dress. It was eye catching enough for me. It was all so full of happiness, the happiness that I long to have in my very own life. No disarray, despair and even misery. Just a blissful moment to enjoy!

When all of the sudden, the Sun was hid under the cloud, darkness has yet to come. Every beautiful moment that was seen and felt ago faded vigorously with an arrival of black fog. The pink roses and green grass wilted away ever so fast and I couldn’t help myself of feeling scared on what was happening around me. Later, blood appears everywhere, on the wilted grass, roses, everything in that garden and the scent was too strong for me to endure. I couldn’t go anywhere else to avoid from facing this bloody scene. I fell on my feet, crying and begging for help. It was even scarier when I found there was blood all over my dress, my feet, my hands, all over me! Moreover, it was a fresh blood which soon led me to suffocating! “I couldn’t breathe, there’s too much blood.” Everything seemed to have shut from my sight once again.

to be continued...
